Join Manatee Lagoon’s Manatee Masters and an expert speaker for a lecture to learn about a new topic each month! Advance registration is recommended, although not required. This helps Manatee Lagoon with tracking the number of visitors we receive and plan for seating.

This lecture is a part of Manatee Lagoon’s Manatee Master Lecture Series presented on the first Sunday of the month from May to October 2019. Join us as Manatee Lagoon’s Manatee Masters, our docents who are all Florida Atlantic University students, share highlights of their respective fields of study.

This month: Manatee Master and FAU graduate student Krystyna Powell will talk about the influence of red mangroves within coastal environments and the biodiversity within mangrove habitats. Krystyna has worked on mangrove projects in both Florida and Panama, and will discuss her research findings and how different animals can affect the health of red mangroves.
