Manatee Tracking

Please note: The manatees featured below are no longer being tracked. We continue to share this information, though, because it is interesting to see where manatees travel when they are in the wild. We will update this page from time to time.

Have you ever wondered where manatees go when they aren’t at Manatee Lagoon? Thanks to our friends at Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute, we are now able to track certain manatees year-round. Scientists attach tags to manatee tails, allowing scientists to study the movement patterns of manatees, track rehabilitated manatees after their release to monitor their health, and develop site-specific regulations such as slow speed and no-wake zones.

Below are some of the manatees that we've previously tracked or are currently tracking. Please check back soon for more updates on where in the world these manatees travel to next!
