ManateeFest 2024

Description

ManateeFest 2024 will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Held at the height of manatee season, the goal of ManateeFest is to educate the community about manatees, the importance of protecting manatees and the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem. Every year, the festival gets bigger and better – we predict more than 7,000 visitors will join the fun in 2024!

The upcoming ManateeFest will feature environmental exhibitors, arts and crafts vendors, food and beverage stations, live music, corn hole, a KidsFunZone, Conservation Pledge station, environmental lectures, and much more. The event will be heavily promoted through marketing, social media, and publicity efforts. We are very excited to host such a valuable event in our community, and we hope you will join us in making ManateeFest 2024 a success!

By participating in ManateeFest, you will have the opportunity to support an educational event in your community and promote your business to thousands. Please join us in making a difference by completing the application.

The registration deadline has been extended until Jan. 17, 2024. All applications received after midnight Jan. 17, 2024, EST will incur a $50 late application fee.

The festival sells out quickly, so be sure to submit your application as soon as possible. Manatee Lagoon reserves the right to deny any application for vendors and exhibitors that do not align with the vision of the festival, are oversubscribed, or would compete with existing festival sponsors and exhibits.

Applicants will receive a decision email notification within ten business days of submitting their application. Payment must be made in full within ten business days of receiving an acceptance notification. Booth space will be released if full payment is not received after ten business days of acceptance notification.

Each vendor must procure and maintain the following insurance for the duration of the event: (a) commercial general liability insurance in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000); (b) business liability insurance in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000). Such insurance shall provide additional insured status to NextEra Energy, Inc. and Florida Power & Light Company. Any waiver of such requirement must be requested and made in writing in advance of the event. Upload proof of insurance.  
  • Cancellation Policy: ManateeFest is rain or shine! Unless a rain date has been established, event will be held rain or shine. There are no refunds for inclement weather, failure to show, or emergency cancellations. If event is canceled or postponed for any reason, you will be contacted promptly.
  • Only one vendor/exhibitor per space. No subletting or booth sharing please.
  • Electricity is not available, and no generators are permitted on-site.
  • Vendors/exhibitors may only sell from the confines of assigned booth. All signage must be limited to the footprint of said tent/booth. If it is determined by event staff that a display is distracting from the overall site presentation or poses a safety concern, a change or improvement will be required.
  • Booth assignments, setup times, check-in location, and special instructions will be sent to you via email approximately one (1) week prior to the event.
  • Although security is provided at the event, vendors/exhibitors are solely responsible for their merchandise and personal property.
  • Recycling bins will be available throughout the event. Only reusable, recyclable, or compostable items are permitted at the event. No single-use plastic bottles are allowed on site, so please bring your own reusable water bottle and/or reusable straws and utensils.
  • To reduce waste and increase awareness of responsible practices, Manatee Lagoon asks that all vendors/exhibitors adhere to our waste free practices and use as much sustainable products and materials as possible. We highly encourage educating guests about the waste free practices at your booth and company/business.
  • All work must be original. No imports, kits, arts and craft supplies, commercial items, or other merchandise, commonly described as “buy-sell,” are permitted for either display or sell. 
  • Due to our waterfront location, please be prepared for the potential of high winds and other weather conditions. Special care must be taken to ensure no materials blow into the lagoon.
  • There will be photographers and videographers present for the event memorializing ManateeFest and posting on our social media accounts. By signing this agreement, you agree to be photographed and possibly posted on our social media accounts.
  • Each vendor/exhibitor is solely responsible for its compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, permit requirements, and other requirements of federal, state, or local law or regulatory authority. Vendors/exhibitors will indemnify FPL, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any liabilities arising from any breach of any of the foregoing.
  • Each vendor/exhibitor is required to execute the release form and will indemnify FPL, its officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any liabilities arising from failure to do so or from any negligence or willful misconduct of vendor and/or any of its participants

This Release, Waiver of Liability, Hold-Harmless Agreement and Covenant Not to Sue (“Release”) was read, understood, and signed on this 

(hereinafter referred to as “Vendor/Exhibitor”) and given to NextEra Energy, Inc. and Florida Power & Light Company, along with their officers, directors, affiliates, parent companies, associated companies, board members, supervisors, agents, servants or employees (collectively referred to here as the "Company"), corporations organized and existing under both the laws of the State of Delaware and Florida with their principal business office located at 700 Universe Boulevard, Juno Beach, Florida 33408, which will allow Vendor to participate as an Vendor/Exhibitor in FPL’s 2024 ManateeFest event (the “Activity”).

In consideration of Vendor/Exhibitor being permitted to be present on Company property, the undersigned, for the referenced business entity and for himself or herself, and his or her personal representatives, heirs and next of kin, clearly and unequivocally releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue the Company from all liability to the undersigned Vendor and the undersigned Vendor's personal representatives, assigns, heirs and next of kin, for any and all loss or damage, any claims based on negligence or other tort, and any claim or demands for the same on account of injury to the person or property of the undersigned or resulting in death of the undersigned, whether caused by the negligence of the Company or otherwise, while the undersigned is visiting Company property.

Vendor agrees that consideration for this Release has been given by the Company.  Vendor agrees that Company is not in the business of providing the Activity.  Vendor assumes full responsibility for and risk of bodily injury, death, or property damage due to the negligence of the Company, or otherwise, while participating in the Activity.  The undersigned acknowledges and agrees that the foregoing Release is intended to be as broad as inclusive as is permitted by the law of Florida, and that if any portion of it is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.  Vendor shall indemnify and hold the Company harmless against all claims caused by the Vendor while participating in the visit resulting from any act or negligence of the Vendor, or any officer, agent, employee, guest, or invitee of Vendor, and from all costs, attorney's fees (whether at trial or on appeal), and liabilities incurred in the defense of any such claim or any action or proceeding brought thereon. If any action or proceeding is brought against Company by reason of such claims, Vendor, on notice from the Company, shall defend the action or proceeding at Vendor's expense by counsel reasonably satisfactory to the Company.  Any litigation resulting from the Activity shall be brought in Palm Beach County, Florida and Florida law shall apply to all matters between the Vendor and the Company. IN ANY LITIGATION ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE ManateeFest Hold Harmless Agreement RELEASE, THE PARTIES HERETO EACH HEREBY KNOWINGLY, VOLUNTARILY AND INTENTIONALLY WAIVE THE RIGHT EACH MAY HAVE TO A TRIAL BY JURY WITH RESPECT TO ANY LITIGATION BASED HEREON, OR ARISING OUT OF, UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE AGREEMENT, OR ANY COURSE OF CONDUCT, COURSE OF DEALING, STATEMENTS (WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN) OR ACTIONS OF EITHER PARTY TO THE RELEASE. THIS PROVISION IS A MATERIAL INDUCEMENT FOR THE PARTIES TO ENTER INTO THE AGREEMENT.

The undersigned has read and voluntarily signs the release and further agrees that no oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made.  By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read this Release.  Any questions I had about the important rights I am giving up participating in the tour have been either explained to me or I understand from my own knowledge.  I agree that the language in this document is unambiguous and does not violate any public policy I am aware of.
