Shades of Culture at Manatee Lagoon

Manatee Lagoon has partnered with the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County to bring its showstopping “Shades of Culture” experiential activation to the facility. The shades are ideally situated between the FPL solar trees and solar canopies, paying homage to Florida’s identity as the Sunshine State. Visitors are encouraged to take a selfie next to the larger-than-life pair of sunglasses and post it on social media, tagging @ManateeLagoon and @PalmBeachCulture.

The Shades of Culture are meant to inspire the community to see art through a different lens. The signature sunglasses measure 8 feet by 20 feet, and the aqua color gives a nod to the green palms and blue sea of the Palm Beaches. The left photo in the lens depicts two manatees, and the right photo in the lens is a golden lion tamarind - a primate that can be seen at the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society in West Palm Beach.

The shades will be on display through March 5. Visitors are asked to enjoy it responsibly by avoiding climbing on the structure.
