Bird Nerding 101 with Autumn & Audubon Everglades

Do you like lookin’ at birds? Then you’re a birder! Help interdisciplinary artist, poet, performer, Florida Master Naturalist and Audubon Everglades’ Director of Education and Outreach Autumn Kioti Horne spread the bird nerd word: NATURE IS FOR EVERYBODY.

This fun presentation is the first step toward becoming a real bird nerd. If you’ve never birded before but are birding-curious, this is your moment! Autumn will demonstrate that birding is accessible to all, no matter your knowledge or ability. And if you are a more seasoned birder, join us and link up with some new bird-minded friends. We’ll nerd out about birds, conservation-conscious birding, and discover Audubon Everglades’ programs and fieldtrips for individuals of all shapes, sizes, abilities and identities.

Autumn Kioti Horne is Audubon Everglades’ Director of Education and Outreach and a Certified Florida Master Naturalist, as well as an educator, interdisciplinary artist, poet, and professional actor. And a retired circus aerialist…really! Autumn was born in South Florida, lived and worked for many years in Harlem NYC, and travels extensively. You can find Autumn flitting all over Southern Florida promoting Audubon Everglades, presenting fun and unique educational opportunities, and in general, helping Floridians to nerd out on birds! Almost the entirety of the programming Autumn offers is free to the public and engages wide-ranging audiences of all ages, abilities, and identities.
